Enterprise deployment

One installer. Every machine.

PDFluent is free for everyone, including commercial use — so rolling it out to a fleet is just standard software deployment. No licence file to push, no seat count to track, nothing to revoke when someone leaves.

The installers

macOS: a universal .dmg (Intel and Apple Silicon), signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple.
Windows: a standard .msi, which supports the usual silent-install switches for scripted deployment.
Both are on the download page — point your MDM at the same URLs you'd hand to an individual user.

Deploy with MDM

Push the installer through whatever device-management tool your organisation already uses — there's no PDFluent-specific configuration step, since there's no licence to provision.

macOS — Jamf / any MDM

Upload the .dmg as a package in Jamf Pro (or your MDM of choice) and scope it to the machines or smart group you want covered.

Windows — Intune / GPO

Package the .msi as a Win32 app in Intune, or deploy it via GPO software installation. Standard silent-install switches apply:

msiexec /i PDFluent_x64_en-US.msi /quiet /norestart

Updates, uninstalling, and data

Updates

The app has a built-in updater (Tauri's auto-updater), which checks for and installs new versions on its own.

Uninstalling

Nothing PDFluent-specific to clean up, since there's no licence or activation state. Use msiexec /x on Windows, or drag the app to Trash on macOS.

Data

PDFluent is local-first. No telemetry, no cloud connection for document processing.

Controlling rollout timing

Want to stage a version instead of letting it auto-update? Right now the way to do that is re-deploying a pinned installer version through your MDM. There's no separate policy toggle for staged rollouts yet.
