Help topics

Installing PDFluent

Get the installer for your platform from the download page. On Windows, run the .msi and follow the prompts. On macOS, open the .dmg and drag PDFluent into Applications. No account or sign-in is needed.

macOS: is PDFluent signed and notarized?

Yes. The macOS build is signed with a Developer ID certificate (Innovation Trigger B.V.) and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a security warning. Open the .dmg and drag PDFluent into Applications. The first time you open any app downloaded from the internet, macOS may ask you to confirm once; after that it launches directly.

Windows: installer and SmartScreen

The Windows installer is a signed .msi (Authenticode, Innovation Trigger B.V.). Double-click it and follow the prompts; PDFluent then appears in the Start menu. If Windows SmartScreen shows a prompt for a newly released app, choose "More info" and then "Run anyway".

Licensing and activation

PDFluent is free for personal, non-commercial use. For business use, buy a per-seat license and activate it in the app: open the menu, choose License, and load your license file. Activation is offline and stays on your device.

Updates

PDFluent checks for updates and can install them in place, so you stay on the latest version. You can also re-download the current build from the download page at any time. If you installed from the Microsoft Store, updates come through the Store.

Opening and editing PDFs

Open a PDF by dragging it onto the window or using "Open PDF". To change text, switch to Edit, click a line, and type. Use the tools panel to convert to Word, Excel or PowerPoint, merge, split, reorder, redact, watermark, run OCR, or sign. Every action runs locally on your computer.

Something is not working

Check the common issues below for specific fixes. If a file still will not open or a feature misbehaves, email [email protected] with a short description of what you did and, if you can share it, the PDF that caused the problem.

Business & licensing

Using PDFluent at work, or rolling it out across a team? Per-seat licenses cover commercial use, with volume pricing and managed deployment for larger organizations. Activation is offline; no per-user accounts are required.

  • Per-seat commercial licenses, activated with a license file
  • Volume pricing for teams; invoicing and POs on request
  • Managed/silent deployment for IT — see the enterprise deployment guide
  • Enterprise licenses can include a contractual support SLA and a private channel
